N.H. man will serve four years in Maine prison for brutal rape of Lebanon teenager

BIDDEFORD, Maine - A New Hampshire man was sentenced on Thursday to 10 years in prison for the brutal rape of a Lebanon teen.

Bohdan Dauphinais, 21, of Center Tuftonboro, N.H., has been convicted of aggravated assault and unlawful sexual touching stemming from the attack on 17-year-old in 2021.

Dauphinais was sentenced Dauphinais to 10 years with all but four years suspended and three years of probation on the charge of aggravated assault, and a consecutive fully suspended sentence of three hundred and sixty four days with a further year of probation for the charge of unlawful sexual touching.

Dauphinais attacked his victim by striking her across the face multiple times and then strangling her with his hands and then stuffing a shirt in her mouth, making it difficult for her to breathe. The jury convicted him of this conduct and he separately pleaded guilty at his sentencing to sexually touching her without her consent during the attack.
