MILTON - SAU #64 School chief Jay McIntire had hoped to name a nominee for the principal’s position at Milton Elementary School to the school board tonight, but scheduling conflicts between himself and incoming superintendent Michael Tursi have put any nomination on hold at least until June 26.
McIntire said he and Tursi were unable to schedule a suitable night for them to interview the two finalists for the job, so now they have decided to split the interviews and then confer together as to whom they will nominate at the meeting two weeks from now.
Both McIntire and Tursi are in the midst of job changes, with Tursi moving from his job as an administrator at Manchester schools to the top spot at SAU #64, while McIntire prepares to move to the superintendent’s position at Brewer, Maine.
McIntire said the district’s principals search team will be visiting the two finalists Thursday and Friday.
He would not reveal whether popular Interim MES Principal Chuck Mills was in the mix.
