York convenience store robbed at gunpoint early today

YORK, Maine - Police are on the lookout for a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred at a York convenience store early this morning.

According to police reports, the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. when a gun-wielding suspect walked into the Route 1 Mr. Mikes Mobil, demanded money from the clerk and fled on foot with the loot.

Through the course of the investigation it was learned that the suspect brandished a firearm outside the store to a vehicle with two occupants prior to entering.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 5'2" to 5'4" with a thin build and brown hair. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black basketball style shorts, black socks and red sneakers. The firearm is described as an unknown caliber revolver.
