Victims of weekend Route 16 crashes include 8-year-old Manchester boy

An 8-year-old from Manchester has been identified as the child who died in a crash on Route 16 in Albany on Friday.
The crash occurred around 5:20 p.m. in the area of mile marker 72 when police say a 2018 Ford F550 was traveling southbound on Route 16 and struck a 2020 Kia, which then slammed into a 2015 Volvo.
Killed in the crash was eight-year-old Gabriel Simpson
Another juvenile and two adults in the Kia all sustained serious injuries.
All aspects of the collision remain under investigation and anyone who may have witnessed the crash or the events leading up to the crash are asked to contact Trooper First Class Nathaniel Goodwin at Nathaniel.D.Goodwin@dos.nh.gov.
Meanwhile, the victim in a Route 16 in Madison on Sunday has been identified as an Albany man.
Kevin Sargent, 44, died when when a Chevrolet Tahoe was headed southbound when it lost control and rolled over around 3:45 p.m. according to state police.
Three adults were ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. Sargent was transported to Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The other male and female adults were flown to Maine Medical with severe injuries, while five children who were found inside the vehicle sustained only minor injuries. Preliminary investigation revealed that three adults were not wearing their seat belts.
