ROCHESTER - Frisbie Memorial Hospital is working to help local community members obtain the life-saving opioid antidote Naloxone (Narcan) for drug overdoses.

Frisbie Memorial Hospital physicians can now provide standing orders to be filled by any registered pharmacist employed by Walgreens of Rochester.

The drug is known for its ability to rescue someone who has overdosed on an opioid such as heroin or OxyContin.

Step-by-step instructions on how to deliver the Narcan intranasally will be given in the instructions.
