SANFORD, Maine - Third Alarm Diner in Sanford is a cozy, casual downtown eatery with a loyal customer base and friendly waitresses.
They serve up breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday.
We stopped by on Monday morning for a quick breakfast and found that the number one conversation between customers and wait staff wasn't politics or sports; it was breakfast joints.like Mel's Raspberry Patch in Sanford and Farmers Kitchen in Farmington.
Well, we didn't get any of the chef-made homemade hash, or the Lobster or Steak Bomb Benedicts, but we did discern that their coffee and homefries are above average, and so is their service.

The food came out in about five minutes through a window to the kitchen where I could watch the cooks preparing the food.
They even had gluten free toast.
You can get the homefries either deep fried or grilled.
Their prices are absolutely reasonable. My breakfast of one egg, homefries, gluten free toast (which costs extra) along with coffee ran just over $10 with tax.
Next time you're in Sanford check them out. They're located at 47 Washington St., not far from the mall.

And btw, when you first walk in, you might not think they got full bar service, but they do.
