DOVER - Theresa Ann (Brown) May of Riverside Rest Home has died from complications of Alzheimer's disease at age 83.

Born March 16, 1941, to Raymond and Mary (Cormier) Brown in Dover, Theresa was a graduate of Saint Mary's Academy High School, class of 1959. Theresa resided in Dover until 1989 then moved to Somersworth. Theresa worked at Sawyer Mills as a cashier before becoming a teller at Strafford Savings Bank, later known as Citizens Bank, retiring after 25 years in 1999. She then went to work at Walmart in Somersworth, first in women's wear, then as a greeter for 17 years.

Theresa was a voracious reader and she enjoyed shopping and searching for antiques.

She is survived by a sister, Florence Norton and her wife Mary Oliver of Rochester, four children Michael and his wife Terri (Doolan) May of Rochester, Bethany Lapointe and her husband Kevin of Virginia Beach, Va., Carrie May and her husband Timothy Nelson of Barrington, and David May of Somersworth. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Kevin Lapointe Jr. and his wife Kendra, Kassandra Lapointe, Logan May, Connor May and Makayla May, and a great-granddaughter Amelia Kay Lapointe. She was preceded in death by both her parents and her brother Omar Foxx Brown.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Riverside Rest Home for the excellent care Theresa received there.
