The president is cognitively challenged: What's the mainstream media's excuse

Just like we learned during Covid some of the screwball stuff teachers were teaching our children, we learned during the June 27 debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump just how decrepit and cognitively challenged the sitting president is.
But while the president's sharply declining acuity was put on full display that Thursday night, so was the dereliction of duty by the White House press corp and the mainstream media.
The day after the debate it was shock and awe from The New York Times, The Washington Post, NBC, CBS, the Associated Press.
"Oh we had no idea it was this bad," the collective legacy media opined.
But this is more than a dereliction of duty by the media. It is the biggest White House coverup since Watergate.
And Vice President Kamala Harris is front and center when it comes to the coverup of Biden's mental frailty.
After the debate CNN's Anderson Cooper asked Harris, "The person we saw tonight, the president we saw tonight on that stage: Is that how he is every day?'"
'The Joe Biden that I work with every day is someone who, as I have said, has performed in a way that has been about bringing people into the Oval Office, Republicans and Democrats, to compromise in a way that is extraordinary these days, because it just doesn't happen, but Joe Biden can make it happen," she replied.
Spoken like a true politician, and certainly not like someone who takes seriously the security of our country, our border and our standing as the leader of the free world on the global stage.
In fact, the only reason the negative stories about a waning, cognitively challenged Biden are coming out now is that the mainstream media, joined at the hip with the Democrat party, sees Biden now as a liability when it comes to the general election in November.
That's the real panic button here.
Not that Biden's a cognitive train wreck, but it looks increasingly like he loses to Donald Trump.
But an addled Biden is not the story here. Neither is a charging Trump.
The real story here's the story the mainstream media tried to cover up in cahoots with the White House and the Democrat party.
Shame on them. From their lack of enterprise and curiosity the mainstream media appears to have either been derelict in their duty or complicit in the coverup.
