ROCHESTER - The city announced on Thursday that the Community Center tennis and pickleball courts and the Squamanagonic Disc Golf Course will reopen on Monday with restrictions in place to ensure the safety of those using the amenities and to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Those using the courts at 150 Wakefield St. will have the opportunity to play singles matches only until further notice. Each court will be marked to designate which sport can be played on it.

Seniors-only court use for community members over 50 will be held Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 to 11 a.m.

Those using the courts must not gather in the parking lot before or after their visit, and are encouraged to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer frequently and avoid touching their faces while there.

Those using the disc golf course at 53 Hansonville Road are asked to stick to solo rounds as much as possible, and not to play with more than three players.

The course will continue to be closed to the public on Fridays to allow local law enforcement agencies to use the area for training.

"Gimmie" putts (a scoring shot that the players agree counts automatically without being played) should be considered to help minimize contact with shared surfaces while playing.

Those waiting to tee off should stay in their vehicles until the other group has cleared the area.
