ROCHESTER - If you're not a member of the Rochester County Club you might not ever think of dropping in for lunch or dinner.
Well, we're going to give you a mulligan, a golfer's term for giving someone a second chance to get it right.
We dined there earlier this week and found the Reuben sandwich quite delicious, especially with one of their 16 beers on tap.
The tasty corned beef and Swiss cheese portions were enormous, which you can see sans bread due to gluten issues.
The only drawback ... for me, not enough Russian dressing.
The sweet potato fries more than made up for any dressing qualms however, as these reddish brown wisps of sweet and succulent flavor were so crispy and plentiful.
The atmosphere is comfortable with plenty of elbow room to stretch out and bend those elbows with a draft beer or hand crafted cocktail.
And no complaints on the server. She was cheerful, and patient with us, answering all our gluten questions. Great job!
The Rochester Country Club's Greenside Grille is open Monday-Friday 10 a.m. 9 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday at 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. They're located at the club at 94 Church Street off Route 125 in Gonic.
