ROCHESTER - Police responding to a welfare check request at the Friendly's restaurant on South Main Street on Tuesday ended up charging the subject of the request on several drug charges as well as being a habitual offender.
The incident unfolded around 9:45 a.m. when police were called to the eatery's parking lot for a male who was reported to be "very out of it" and talking to himself inside a vehicle with the motor running.
Police arrived and after a brief investigation arrested Shawn Davis, 27, of 45 Pine St., Rochester, on a bench warrant out of Rockingham County, possession of a controlled narcotic drug with intent to distribute, heroin possession, meth possession marijuana possession and operating a vehicle while being a Habitual Offender.
Davis refused bail on the charges and was being held at the Strafford County Jail, with a court date today at Strafford County Superior Court.
