Strafford woman nabbed for DUI, endangering welfare of a child

ROCHESTER - A Strafford woman was arrested on Tuesday for driving under the influence with children in the car, Rochester Police said today.

The incident unfolded around 6:50 p.m. when police received a call regarding a motor vehicle complaint regarding a white Subaru in the area of Rochester Hill and Haven Hill roads. The person calling in asked police to check the welfare of a screaming child that was in the back seat of the car.

While checking Rochester Hill Road for the vehicle, officer noticed a vehicle matching the description parked, but running, at the Hi Vu Motor Inn.

When they approached the running vehicle, they noticed two small children unattended in the vehicle. One child was not properly restrained and the other did not have the proper restraints available.

After waiting for a period of time the driver, Marissa Woodman, 32, of Strafford, arrived at the vehicle after exiting one of the rooms.

After speaking with Woodman, the officer determined that she was impaired and was arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child X2, Aggravated Driving Under the Influence, Child Restraint X2, Uninspected vehicle and Unattended Vehicle.

Woodman was held on no bail and is scheduled to be arraigned at the 7th Circuit District Division Rochester Court today.
