Somersworth man charged with selling drugs in Maine; $150G worth of meth seized

Sherman, Maine - A Somersworth man arrested in northern Maine on Tuesday was found to have almost three pounds of methamphetamine and a smaller amount of fentanyl, according to safety officials..

Timothy Pinkham, 34, of Somersworth was arrested following a traffic stop on Interstate 95 in Sherman.

Prior to the stop MDEA'S Aroostook County Task Force received information about a vehicle travelling from Massachusetts to Aroostook County containing illegal narcotics. Agents were able to determine the vehicle was likely being operated by Pinkham whose New Hampshire driver's license was suspended.

Working with other lawmen, a Maine State Trooper was able to determine Pinkham was indeed the operator of the vehicle. The Trooper then initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle on I-95 North in Sherman. During the stop Pinkham attempted to dispose of suspected fentanyl. He was detained and the vehicle was searched by Agents and the Trooper.

During the search morel than 1,300 grams (2.8 pounds) of methamphetamine and over 3.5 grams of fentanyl were located. Also located in the vehicle was a locked container, which Agents later obtained a search warrant for. Located in the container was another 441 grams of methamphetamine, bringing the total amount seized to more than 3.8 pounds. The street value of the methamphetamine seized is over $150,000.

Pinkham was taken to the Aroostook County Jail and charged with Class A Aggravated Trafficking of Scheduled W Drugs, 2 Counts of Unlawful Furnishing Schedule W Drugs, 2 Counts of Unlawful Possession of Schedule W Drugs and Operating without a License. Bail was set at $75,000 cash.
