SOMERSWORTH - A Somersworth man was arrested on Saturday in connection with the firing of a gun during a confrontation near an Indigo Road residence.
Police got involved around 10:45 a.m. when they received a report from an individual who alleged he was shot at by a person at a residence in the area of Green Street and Indigo Hill Road, according to a statement sent out by police Saturday night.
Moments later a second call was received from a neighborhood resident who claimed they shot at someone who was trying to break into their house.
Police soon realized the two incidents were connected, that the parties were known to each other and that a firearm was discharged during the incident by Gabriel Leandry, 38, of Indigo Hill Road.
"That round was discharged in the general direction of one of the parties involved and into the air in the general direction of other residential structures," Somersworth Police Capt. John Sunderland said. "The firearm discharged was seized and is in police custody."
Leandry was charged with two counts of reckless conduct, a class B felony. He was released on personal recognizance with an arraignment set for March 11 in Dover District Court.
