On Wednesday Sept. 14, Shirley J. Hartford went to be with her Lord and Savior, she was 82.

She was born June 2, 1940, in Rochester, the daughter of Harry and Irene (Woodman) King. Shirley has resided in Rochester her entire life and had worked as an LNA at the Rochester Manor, the Clipper Home and Riverside Rest Home for many years. She was a longtime member of True Memorial Baptist Church where she was an active member - teaching Sunday school, helping with Thanksgiving Dinner etc.

She loved spending time with her family. She loved gardening, camping, picnics and having cookouts.

The widow of Rufus Hartford, she is survived by her son, Richard Hartford; daughter, Marilyn Hartford, grandchildren, Tiffany, Rachel, Stephanie, Erin; great grandchildren, Adrian, Preston, Kaylee, Alexxus and Thorin; sisters, Rita Gray and Cynthia King and many nieces and nephews.
