MADUBRY - A Lee woman has been indicted following information filed by the State Police Sex Offender Registry regarding her volunteer status at child athletic events in Madbury.
Kristie Torbick, 44, of Lee, was formally chared with NH RSA 632-A:10 Prohibition from Child Care Service of Persons Convicted of Certain Offenses, a Class A Felony.
The investigation determined that between June 1 and June 30, Torbick had signed up and had been volunteering at the Snack Shack at Demerritt Park in Madbury during children's baseball games. She will be arraigned in Strafford County Superior Court in Dover on Nov 9.
The New Hampshire State Police Sex Offender Unit comprises a Detective Sergeant and civilian staff responsible for overseeing offenders within the state as well as offenders moving into New Hampshire from other jurisdictions. The unit is often called upon to assist local agencies as well as Federal Agencies.
New Hampshire State Police Sex Offender Registry was assisted by the Madbury and Lee Police Departments.
The indictment was handed down earlier this month.
An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been presented to a grand jury to move forward to trial.
