Seacoast LGBT History Project on display at Franklin Gallery next month

ROCHESTER - The Seacoast LGBT History Project is gearing up for its sixth annual show at RiverStones Custom Framing and The Franklin Gallery in August.

What social outlets and support were available to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals on the NH Seacoast through the decades? What was the first social group? What bars were available and where were they located? What groups are available now? Come find out at the "Standing Together: Seacoast LGBT Social and Support Groups" exhibit at RiverStones Custom Framing.

"We are so excited to bring part of our Standing Together exhibit to Rochester for pride month," said Tom Kaufhold, founder of the Seacoast LGBT History project. "We will be able to reach a wider audience and include items never displayed in Rochester before."

"I welcome the Seacoast LGBT History Project back for the sixth year and look forward to another wonderful exhibit," said Kris Ebbeson, proprietor of RiverStones Custom Framing and Franklin Gallery. "Tom is so great to work with and I am always excited to offer my gallery space to display the artifacts from this very important project.

The opening reception for this exhibit will be on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at The Franklin Gallery located at RiverStones Custom Framing, 33 N. Main St., Rochester. The public is invited to attend and light refreshments will be served.

The exhibit will be up from Wednesday through the end of the month and free to view. The Gallery is open Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be extended hours on Rochester's Pride Day, Aug. 27, when the gallery will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
