School bus driver strike averted after pact reached between union, bus company

ROCHESTER - School buses in Rochester will continue rolling uninterrupted following an agreement reached between First Student and Teamsters representing drivers.
First Student Bus Company and Teamsters Local 633 reached the new collective bargaining agreement on Tuesday.
The new pact includes wage increases, health insurance coverage, and continued funding of the Teamsters 401(k) retirement plan.
First Student's 700 bus drivers had been threatening to strike chiefly over pension issues.
Other school district that could have been affected by a potential strike include Derry, Nashua, North Hampton and Plaistow.
