ROCHESTER - Roland H. Binette, 77, died Monday, December 8, 2014, at Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover after a period of failing health.

Roland was born in Dover, on December 18, 1936, the son of Joseph and Lea (Cote) Binette and had lived in Rochester since 1940, moving from Dover. Before his retirement he was the owner and operator of Harvey's Catering in Rochester, and a member of the NH Army National Guard for twenty years. He was a former member of the K of C, the Rochester Lodge of Elks and the Victory Club. Roland was predeceased by his wife, Sylvia (Bernier) Binette who died in 2011 and by a daughter Pamela Couture who died in 2001.

Surviving member of the family include: two sons, Thomas Binette of Concord, and Kevin Binette and his wife Claudette of North Carolina, one daughter, Lisa (Binette) Locke and her husband Bradley of Rochester, one sister, Irene Turner of Rochester, six grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
