ROCHESTER - The Rochester Opera House announced earlier this month recent upgrades to their sound system along with a few highlights for the upcoming summer season.

They'll kick off our 2016 Summer Theatre Camp with Acting Out! frp, today through July 8.

Meanwhile, registration is still open for most camps including Broadway Kids (July 11-22) and Broadway Kids Acting Out! (July 25-August 5). Summer Theatre Camp is a joyous hands-on experience, offering lessons in acting, dance, and singing, but it also fosters self-confidence and esteem building for every attendee. Sign up today! Registration forms can be found on the ROH website.

Step back in time through a magical musical journey with The Classic Rock Experience, an epic celebration of '70s classic arena rock featuring classic and accurately performed rock anthems from Led Zeppelin, Journey, Styx, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd and more! This complete '70s rock concert recreation kicks off our summer performance season on Thursday, July 7 at 8pm.

For those about to rock, we salute you with the greatest AC/DC tribute band in New England, Dirty Deeds. Back by popular demand, it's high-energy and wild entertainment when Dirty Deeds delivers the stage antics and theatrics of AC/DC, one of the world's best rock and roll bands. This mainstage series performance is on Saturday, July 23 at 8 p.m. There's a cash bar and doors open at 7 p.m.

Comedian Lenny Clarke has traveled the world as a standup comic and he's making his next stop at Rochester Opera House on Friday, July 29 at 8 p.m. This R-rated Boston comic, with a conversational, deceptively genial delivery, mixed with brief moments of clowning, is unpredictable in a very good way; you don't know where he's going to go next!

Don't let the sun go down on Saturday, July 30 without your tickets to The Elton John Experience starring pianist Bill Connors. You will think you are watching Elton himself, with the fabulous costume changes, colorful showmanship, and all of Elton's hits. Doors open at 7pm with an 8 p.m. show time.

Please note that handicap accessibility is available in the balcony areas only for all 2016 Summer Season performances. All performances with a cash bar are restricted to patrons age 18 and over unless accompanied by their legal guardian.

The air-conditioned Rochester Opera House is located in City Hall at 31 Wakefield Street in Rochester, NH. For ticket prices and more information, please visit us online at www.rochesteroperahouse.com, by phone: (603) 335-1992, or visit the box office during summer hours on Wednesdays and Fridays from Noon to 5pm. Rochester Opera House summer programming is sponsored in part by TD Bank, Eastern Propane & Oil, Shaheen & Gordon PA, Norman Vetter Foundations, Seacoast Media Group, The Cocheco Times, Liberty Mutual, Albany International, Waste Management, and Bank of New Hampshire.
