Rochester woman faces dozens of years in prison in drug possession, trafficking case

DOVER - A Rochester woman has been indicted on five drug possession and trafficking charges that could result in a stiff prison sentence if convicted.
All of the charges are connected to arrests in May and November that occurred in Barrington while Terra Stewart, 47, formerly of 13 Country Ridge MHP, was out on bail.
Since she was out on bail at the time of the new offenses, seven years is added to the maximum term of imprisonment for each count, meaning a maximum sentence could reach 70 years.
The May trafficking arrest alleged Stewart had methamphetamine in her possession with intent to distribute, while the Nov. 26 charges allege possession of fentanyl, morphine, methadone and buprenorphine, another opioid.
Each charge also includes a $25,000 fine.
The Strafford County grand jury indictments for February were handed down on Feb. 17 and released last week.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been presented to move forward to trial.
