ROCHESTER - Police are asking for the public's help in finding who is responsible for yet another spree of graffiti vandalism in and around the downtown.
Police are asking anyone that lives or works in the area where the vandalism occurred to check any home or business surveillance that may have captured anyone suspicious in the area.
The vandalism has included the words, SOLO, SLIK, TIEG, VELL, STEM, and SHO to name a few and follows a separate spate of such graffiti that occurred a couple of months ago.
A bill signed by Gov. Chris Sununu that took effect last month ups the punishment for vandalism such as graffiti to a Class A misdemeanor, which can carry a yearlong sentence in county jail and a $2,000 fine.
If the loss due to intentional vandalism is more than $1,500 an offender could be hit with a Class B felony, which carries a three and a half to seven year prison sentence.
Citizens who have seen anyone suspicious in the area or have any information pertaining to the vandalism, please contact the Rochester Police Department at 603-330-7128. You can also provide information and remain anonymous by calling the Rochester Crime Line at 603-335-6500 or Text to: CRIMES (274637) Body of Text: TEXT4CASH + your tip. Cash rewards are offered for information that leads to an arrest.
