Rochester Police probe cause of city man's serious head injury

ROCHESTER - Rochester Police are trying to find out how a city man came to be found unconscious with a head injury in a driveway on McDuffee street not far from his home on Saturday morning.

Offices were called to the scene around 8 a.m. for the report of an unconscious male.

Police soon learned the injured 64-year-old male lived nearby but are still trying to piece together the circumstances surrounding why he was in the driveway and what led to him becoming injured and unconscious.

It is not known how long he had been laying in the driveway, however police believe the incident occurred between 1-7 a.m.

The male was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital where he remains unresponsive and in serious condition.

Police are asking anyone who lives in the area who may have heard or seen anything suspicious during the overnight hours to contact them. They are also asking for anyone in the area who may have a doorbell camera or other surveillance camera to check the overnight hours for anything suspicious.
