ROCHESTE - The Franklin Gallery at RiverStones Custom Framing in downtown Rochester will host an exhibit during the month of May featuring the work of local photographer Jared Plante.
A reception will be held on May 11 from 5-6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend and meet the artist and view his work. Light refreshments will be served.
Plante is a self-taught photographer from New Hampshire.
"I started photographing on a whim because I loved the idea of being able to eternalize a moment in time. While I do enjoy creating fine art and wildlife images for my viewers, landscape photography has become my specialty."
His photographs capture the ever-changing beauty of the places he's traveled. He enjoys sharing his images with others in hopes that they will be inspired to get out and explore local landscapes. "I am also passionate about giving those who are unable to get out and explore the chance to see the amazing views nature has to offer. My goal is to create compelling and inspirational pieces of art and I want to bring joy to all who view them."
Plante has received numerous awards for his photography, including a Gold Medal at the 2022 Professional Photographers of America International Photographic Competition. He has also exhibited at the 2022 New Hampshiret Association's Jack Parfitt juried photography show. He is on the Board of Directors of the state
s Professional Photographers Association and is the incoming vice president, officially taking on the role on July 1. Plante lives with his wife and young son in Rochester.
RiverStones Custom Framing and the Franklin Gallery is located at 33 North Main St. and are open Wednesday through Friday, 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
