ROCHESTER - A city man was injured on Sunday when he fell while climbing into a tree stand to hunt, according to Fish and Game officials.

Jonathan Steeves, 47, received what were described as serious but nonlife threatening injuries a little before 8 a.m. when he fell while climbing a ladder to get into the tree stand. Steeves fell about five feet, according to Fish and Game.

Strafford Fire and Rescue brought Steeves to the road where a Frisbie ambulance transported him to Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover.

The location of the fall was not immediately available.
