ROCHESTER - Robert Munkittrick died peacefully on Nov. 30, 2024, at his Rochester home, in the company of his loving wife. Robert was born March 2, 1943, son of Robert Munkittrick and Emma Cummings Munkittrick in Plymouth. He was predeceased by his parents and first wife, Nancy Talboys Munkittrick. He is survived by his wife, Goody Khalsa; sister Sharon Gigliotti (Michael); nieces Sara Gigliotti (Robert Thissen); Anna Mills (Geoff); great-nieces and great-nephews Emma, Sean, Alex, Noah, and Paige; and members of his blended family: stepchildren HariNarayan, SatNarayan, Gurujiwan, and DevAtma Khalsa, and stepgrandchildren Monroe, Aurelia, Logan, Kaia, Kaiden, Aram, Mila, and Aniela.
Bob grew up in Rumney, attended Rumney elementary schools and graduated from Plymouth High School (class of '61). Bob interrupted study at University of New Hampshire to join the Army, where he was stationed in Germany in the Signal Corps. After discharge from the Army, Bob completed his studies and graduated from UNH with a degree in forestry in 1968.

A childhood Erector Set helped inspire Bob's career-choice of carpentry, cabinetmaking and home building. Bob's work centered on the Seacoast region of New Hampshire where he built homes as a general contractor as well as employed by others. In retirement, he continued to use and enjoy his skills with Goody: remodeling and renewing a family home.

Bob's interests varied widely, with a common thread of beauty, love of nature, precision, and adventure: from tying salmon flies; to obtaining a pilot's license; to photography (images of hikes on the trails, in the woods, on the mountains), and a fan of NASCAR. Bob was an accomplished cook, creating prize-winning apple pies and blueberry muffins (exquisite, flaky pie-crusts!).

Bob was a "handshake" kind of guy, with a dry sense of humor. He loved coffee with friends and conversations with neighbors. We're thankful for his life. He will be missed.
