GONIC - Robert J. DiMambro, 86, of Brickyard Drive, died at his home after a period of declining health with his family at his side. Born in Dover on January 6, 1932 to Chris and Antonia DiMambro.
Bob graduated from Dover High in 1951 and enlisted in the Navy until 1954. He worked at the family grocery store (Dimambro's) until 1965 and then became a furniture representative out of North Carolina covering New England.
He married Eleanor (O'Brien) DiMambro in 1967. They had three children, Robert DiMambro and his partner Jamen Towle of Barrington, Christopher DiMambro and his wife Gale of Chicago, Ill., and Jennifer Lizotte and her husband Dave of Charlotte, N.C. They have four grandchildren, Michael, Olivia and Cameron DiMambro of Chicago, and Deanna Lizotte of Charlotte, N.C.
In addition to his immediate family he also leaves behind his brother Henry and his wife Kathy of Dover; a sister in-law Marcia of Dover; along with many nieces and nephews.
Bob was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Armand and Arthur DiMambro.
