The family of Robert "Bob" Hughes sadly announce his death on Oct. 5, 2023. He courageously battled Alzheimer's disease for many years before passing in his wife, Janice's, arms. He was 82 years old.

Bob had a wonderful sense of Irish humor. He would laugh so hard the tears would appear and everyone laughed with him. He loved people and everyone he met became his friend. But more than anything Bob loved his family.

Bob worked for 38 years at Kidder Press/Heidelberg as a supervisor and retired in 2000. Shortly after retiring, Bob and Jan enjoyed a tour of 8 countries in Europe. In 2001, they began renting a home in Florida for the winter. In 2010, they sold their home on Milton Three Ponds and purchased a home in The Villages, Fla, where they made many neighborhood friends. In 2017 they sold their home and moved back to New Hampshire to be closer to family.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Moreau Hughes, his two sons Greg and wife Kristi and Chris and wife Tanya. He is also survived by his grandson Kyle who was the light of his life. He is also survived by his nephew Steve Hillsgrove and wife Jane and adult daughters Katie and Lauren along with several other nieces and nephews.

Bob was predeceased by parents Katherine and Henry Hughes, brother James and sister Sally Hillsgrove along with his sadly missed infant granddaughter Miranda Hughes. Additionally he was predeceased by "aunts" Eleanor Flanagan and Catherine Ronan.

The family appreciates the care Bob received at both Riverside Rest Home and Hyder Family Hospice House. Bob could not have received more loving and compassionate care from truly exceptional staff at both locations.
