ROCHESTER - Abi's Place Recovery House, a substance abuse treatment center for moms, opened on Wednesday with Gov. Chris Sununu on hand for the ribbon cutting.
Abi's Place is named in honor of Abi Lizotte, who died of addiction in December 2017. Lizotte had been a huge supporter of Rochester's Hope on Haven Hill, which a substance abuse treatment center for women with children.
Abi's Place, located at 32 Charles St., is a transitional housing program for women who have received treatment for addiction but still need support.
It will offer programs that support employment, health care for themselves and their babies, and continuing care for their recovery, according to their website.
Abi's Place is expected to be able to house eight women and their children.
