ROCHESTER - The heavy police presence including a SWAT team at Saturday's Milton Road incident was due to the report of an armed suicidal male, whom police were ultimately able to coax out of a residence there.
Rochester Police first responded to the area of 131 Milton Road around 1:45 p.m. and after learning the male was, indeed, inside the residence, called in the SWAT team. As a precaution safety officials evacuated Stonewall Kitchen, which is located across the street.
Rochester Police Capt. Todd Pinkham said the SWAT team was called in around 4 p.m. and the subject walked out around 4:45 p.m. after which he was placed under arrest.
Pinkham said Rochester Police used the department's over-the-air radios to "talk the man out."
Pinkham added no one was hurt in the incident and there were no travel disruptions.
Details of any charges were not released.
