Renowned Seacoast comedian Juston McKinney's show all about 'kiddin' around

When you have kids it's your "greatest achievement and your greatest challenge," says renowned funny man Juston McKinney. "They go from the terrible twos to the terrible teens before you know it."
McKinney, a frequent performer at the Rochester Opera House, is known for keeping audiences in rollicking-laughter mode for the length of his show, and this time the Maine and New Hampshire native will be bringing a multi-media production to complement his routine.
The images will include some of his kids, but he says they don't mind.
"It's not going out on the internet, so they aren't too upset," he says.
McKinney brings his latest show, "Parentally Challenged," to the Rochester Opera House this Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
"If you have kids, used to be a kid, or thinking about having a kids, this is the show for you," he told The Rochester Voice on Tuesday.
He said he'll be using slides and videos of his family as a backdrop to his performance.
McKinney mused that the challenges of having kids change over the years, and parents have to constantly adapt to the nuances of their offspring growing up.
"From birth to infant to toddler, to when they start school, then as teenagers and going to college, and who knows, maybe back in the basement; that's a lot of challenges." he quipped.
McKinney was born in Portsmouth, where he grew up until the 6th grade. That's when his aunt and dad packed up the family of eight and moved across the bridge to Kittery, Maine.
After attended Southern Maine Community College, he spent seven years as a York County Deputy Sheriff, patrolling the woods, he jokes.
In the late 1990s, he traded in his badge for a microphone and went from York County to New York City to pursue a career in comedy. He quickly became a regular at Comic Strip Live, Stand-Up New York, Dangerfield's, Gotham Comedy Club and, Caroline's on Broadway
He went on to sign sitcom development deals with Warner Brothers, CBS, IFC and Comedy Central.
He has also appeared several times on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien as well as a Showtime Comedy Special with Rob Gronkowski.
His TV and movie credits include The "King of Queens,100 Centre Street" and "The Zoo Keeper."
McKinney now lives in the Seacoast with his wife, kids and dogs.
His wildly successful "On the Bright Side video has had 1.2 million hits.
