The remnants of Tropical Storm Fred were about 50 miles west northwest of Albany, N.Y., around noon today and headed straight for the Greater Rochester area where a flash flood watch remains in effect through early Friday.
The flash flood area includes interior York County in Maine and all of Strafford and Carroll counties in New Hampshire.
Meanwhile, persistent heavy rainfall will continue throughout the region which may lead to flash flooding, especially in mountainous or hilly terrain.
Off and on rainfall, sometimes heavy, will continue throughout the day and evening, not ending till around midnight tonight.
Clouds will then take over with little chance of sun till Friday midafternoon during which muggy conditions will remain in effect.
Look for another muggy night tonight with temps remaining in the 70s.
