Public comment begins on Frisbie move of charitable assets to for-profit affiliate

Frisbie Memorial Hospital filed a notice of the proposed acquisition transaction with the Attorney General's Office in October.

CONCORD - The Attorney General's Office announced today that Thomas J. Donovan, the Director of Charitable Trusts, will be accepting public comment on a proposed transaction to sell the charitable assets of Frisbie Memorial Hospital to FMH Health Services, LLC, an affiliate of a for-profit corporation, HCA Healthcare, Inc.

Frisbie filed a notice of the proposed acquisition transaction with the Attorney General's Office in October.

State law requires that the Director of Charitable Trusts review all acquisition transactions involving health care charitable trusts. The notice, which includes, among other things, the Asset Purchase Agreement, Statement of Hospital Charitable Objects, and an Executive Summary, may be found at https://www.doj.nh.gov/charitable-trusts/hospitals.htm.

Comments regarding the proposed transaction may be submitted to the Director of Charitable Trusts either by email at Charitabletrusts2@doj.nh.gov or by regular mail to:

The Attorney General also announced that the Director of Charitable Trusts will hold a public hearing on Jan. 6 from 4-6 p.m. at Spaulding High School.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the public hearing.

In the event of inclement weather, the public hearing will be held the following night at the same time.

Notification of any change in the public hearing schedule will be posted to the Charitable Trusts Unit website: https://www.doj.nh.gov/charitable-trusts/hospitals.htm.
