DOVER - "Tigers Tamed. Revolutions Started. Orgies Organized. Priscilla M. Nystedt: Director." Judging from the business card in her purse, she'd led a more active life than those who knew her realized.

Priscilla was a devoted mother who was unwavering in her mission to give her family the life skills needed to be decent human beings. Always generous with advice beforehand but never so petty as to say "I told you so" if it was disregarded, she was truly a bulwark of support, someone to count on in a crisis. There was nothing she would not do for the people she cared for. She'd listen if you wanted to talk or give you a ride when you needed one. She always tried, in her own way, to make the world around her a little better.

The youngest of three daughters, Priscilla was born in Lowell, Mass. on August 18, 1930 to Mary Rose and John McCann. She received a BA from Webster College in Illinois and taught Spanish and English for several years in Long Island, NY. She married Charles V. Bareikis and had two sons, Paul and Bruce, both of whom died in infancy. In time, they adopted a daughter, Joyce. Charles passed away in 1998.

Priscilla worked for several years at the Home Insurance Company in Manchester. She married Leonard E. Nystedt and moved to Concord, until his passing in 2003. She traveled extensively throughout the US and internationally, visiting Mexico, Spain, Norway and Sweden, Australia and New Zealand.

She moved to Dover NH in 2004. A patron of the arts and amateur photographer, she took many pictures of her new community and surrounding areas, particularly lighthouses. She enjoyed exploring local destinations, especially the Dover Community Trail, the ongoing extension of which she followed with great interest. She was a devout Catholic and frequent mid-week churchgoer, favoring St. Joseph's and St. Mary's.

This world-travelling tamer of tigers passed away in her sleep on August 12, 2021. She is survived by her daughter Joyce El Kouarti, granddaughter Suzanne Black and grandson-in-law Joseph Black, sister Charlotte Cox, and several nieces and nephews.
