ROCHESTER - An elderly Rochester woman was arrested for DUI on Monday after police say she was randomly driving around Winkley Farm Lane hitting a neighborhood association gazebo and several mailboxes.

"We responded to Winkley Farm Lane for the report a female driving a silver Nissan that had hit the gazebo, a couple mailboxes and appeared to be just driving around," Rochester Police Capt. Todd Pinkham said today.

Police responded to the area around 8:55 p.m. and located a silver Nissan parked in a driveway of a residence unfamiliar to the driver.

Winkley Farm Lane is off Walnut Street (Route 202A).

Pinkham said responding officers noted minor damage to the vehicle, the gazebo and two mailboxes, corroborating what was reported on an earlier call to dispatch.

While speaking with the driver, police determined she was under the influence of alcohol and arrested Mary Angers, 67, of Sampson Road, for driving under the influence and two counts of conduct after an accident, all misdemeanors.

Angers was released on PR bail and will be arraigned in the 7th Circuit District Division Rochester Court on Wednesday.
