Police probe shooting of woman at Sanford motel

SANFORD - Sanford Police are investigating a shooting at a Sanford motel that occurred on Monday.

Police became involved around 2:05 p.m. upon being dispatched to the Quality Inn at 1892 Main St.

It was reported that a 31-year-old female had a gunshot wound to the leg.

The female victim was transported to Maine Medical with a nonlife-threatening gunshot wound to the lower leg.

The Sanford Police Criminal Investigations Division is currently investigating the incident as this investigation is in the early phases.
