Police investigating fatal stabbing in Manchester

MANCHESTER - State and Manchester Police today are investigating the suspicious death of an adult male in Manchester.

Police first got involved around 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday when they responded to the area of Barry Avenue and Spruce Street in Manchester in response to a 911 call reporting an injured male. Upon arrival officers found an adult male lying on the ground unconscious with an apparent stab wound to his chest. The injured male was transported to Elliot Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Anyone who may have information about the incident under investigation is asked to call Detective Guillaume Joffres (603-792-5518) or Detective Harrison Elwell (603-792-5555) of the Manchester Police Department.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under active investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available, pending the results of an autopsy to be conducted later today by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
