Police investigating drowning incident in Rindge pond

RINDGE - Police are investigating a Rindge drowning that occurred on Saturday.
First responders got involved around 3 p.m. after New Hampshire State Police Communications was notified of a missing person believed to be in Pool Pond.
Upon arrival, investigators learned that earlier in the day, the victim's dog was found swimming in the water with no one around and was brought to shore. Shortly thereafter, a family member unsuccessfully attempted to contact the victim and called for help. Personal belongings were also found on a nearby beach.
Search efforts continued and the adult male victim was located around 5:30 PM approximately 300 feet from shore. He was recovered from the water and pronounced deceased. Multiple agencies responded including New Hampshire State Police-Marine Patrol, NH Fish and Game, Rindge Police Department, Rindge Fire and Rescue, Jaffrey Fire and Rescue, Winchendon Dive Team, and the New Hampshire Water Rescue Task Force.
The incident is under investigation and the victim's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
