Police continue probe of brazen nighttime attack in the downtown

ROCHESTER - Police say they continue to investigate a brazen nighttime attack that occurred in front of the Lilac City Grille on Thursday.

Police were alerted to the incident around 9:15 p.m. when a woman called dispatch to report that someone almost hit her vehicle and then went up to her window and allegedly punched her in the chest.

The victim met with police in the municipal parking lot across the street where she filed her complaint.

Police today said they have a person of interest in the case, and an arrest is likely.
