ROCHESTER - Peggy Ellen [Morgan] Maxfield, age 63, of Rochester, NH, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday December 28, 2025.

Peggy was born July 10, 1962 to Maynard Morgan and Florence [Brown] Morgan. She grew up in Milton, NH where she attended Milton Elementary School and Nute High School. Peggy first worked at the shoe shop in Farmington, NH. Years later she was employed as a cashier at both Walmart and Market Basket in Rochester, NH where she was very fond of interacting with her customers.

Peggy was passionate about her faith and her family. She attended church services on a regular basis and loved to sing songs of praise to The Lord. Peggy was a fellow of many churches over the years and found comfort in sermons and worship. Her favorite bible verse was Jeremiah 29:11.

Peggy loved her family and lived a life filled with that love. She held great affection for animals including many pets, cardinals, and frogs. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, going to tea parties, frequenting yard sales, reading, and completing crossword puzzles. Later in life, she overcame her fear of flying and took pleasure in traveling.

Peggy will be remembered by many as a spirited (and stubborn) woman who always spoke her mind. She was also known to be generous and kind; always there for her friends and family whenever she was able. Perhaps most significantly, she was blessed with humor and delighted in laughter with her friends and family. Those closest to her will surely reminisce for years to come that she held an appreciation of being on either the giving or receiving end of a good-natured barb.

Peggy is predeceased by her parents Maynard and Florence Morgan; brothers Bradley Morgan and Jeffrey Morgan; and sisters Cynthia Garyait and Lorna Gray. She is survived by her husband and partner of over 30 years Adam Maxfield; son Richard Russell and daughter-in-law Tammy Russell; daughter Molly Fernald and son-in-law Robert Fernald; daughters Sarah MacKenzie and Erin Russell; grandchildren Salem Russell, Eliana Mooney, and Calyx DiMeo; as well as many adoring nieces and nephews.

Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end; it simply means I'll miss you until we meet again.
