She worked at the Dover Shoe Factory, Somersworth Day Care, and finally UNH where she started as a secretary and completed computer science classes while raising her children, eventually becoming a computer programmer.
Marrying a Somersworth native, you better like sports. She was a fixture at her children's and grandchildren's athletic events for decades and served as the Treasurer of Somersworth-Berwick Little League. She was an avid reader of many genres, particularly religious studies and the Bible, and attended Women's Bible classes for 10 years. She enjoyed cooking (but not cleaning!), quilting, and mahjong. She was a parishioner of St. Leo's Parish in Gonic where she served as a money counter as well as a member of the Parish Council and Finance Committee. She loved to sing and for many years was part of the church and Granite State choirs.
