ROCHESTER - Patricia A. Bowen, 79, died at the Colonial Hill Center of Rochester August 2, 2014, after a lengthy period of declining health. She was born Sept. 15, 1934, in Waterville, Maine to Rupert and Mary (Langley) Loring. Her early childhood was spent in Maine and then in Ctr. Ossipee from 1947 until her marriage. She graduated from Kennett High School (Conway) and Hesser Business College. She worked as an executive secretary until her marriage to Walter Bowen in November 28, 1957. Their home was Rochester, where Pat lived for the remainder of her life. She and her husband were active members of the First United Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking and homemaking.

Pat was an inspiration to all who knew her for her ability to stay positive and upbeat in spite of the debilitating effects of Type 1 diabetes, contracted at age 11. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Walter Bowen, and by her son, Michael Bowen of Cape May, N.J. Members of her family include brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Joan Loring of Londonderry, sisters-in-law, Carol Hollett of Maine and Ann Bowen of N.H, brother-in-law, Paul Bowen of Fla., and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
