ROCHESTER - Leo E. Winkley, 77, died on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital following a period of failing health.

Born September 7, 1936 in Rochester, he was the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Cook) Winkley.

Leo was proud of his time served in the Air Force during the Korean War, with the 58th Combat Air Police. He later worked for many years as a master plumber at Pease Air Force Base.

Leo is survived his daughter, Shanda Cahill and her husband Michael of Wells, Maine; and his son, Brian Winkley and his wife Lisa of Rochester; his three granddaughters; Krista Cahill, Ariana Winkley and Abigail Winkley; his sister Doretta Yeaton and her husband Donald of Rochester; and his brother Harlie Winkley and wife Anita of Winter Haven, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Virginia P. (Campbell) Winkley, their daughter Wendelyn S. Winkley and their grandson Michael Cahill, Jr.
