Nute High announces its Top Five graduating seniors

Arianna Galarneau ... Nute Valedictorian

MILTON - Arianna Galarneau is valedictorian and Alyssa Perko the salutatorian for Nute High School's Class of 2020.

Other students completing the list of Top 5 students are Gavin Horton, Rebekka Bloser and Molly Welch.

Each student was asked to offer their thoughts on their time at Nute and their future plans.

Arianna Galarneau

I am proud of my school involvement at Nute High School. I am going to Chapman University in Orange, California. I will be majoring in business administration and marketing

I want to start off by thanking my parents. Thank you to my mom, Stephanie, for being my number one fan. Thank you for cheering me on, loudly, not just from the bleachers, but in anything and everything I did or will do.

Next: A huge thank you to my dad, Marcus, for making sure to be at every single game, no matter what the distance was. You both have managed to go above and beyond as parents. I wouldn't be standing where I am today without you guys. I love you both.

To my friends: Thank you for the countless memories. Thank you for laughing with me, for dancing your butts off with me, and for going on car rides where we blasted the radio and sang at the top of our lungs.

Thank you, Dave (Mrs. Davis) for teaching me life skills that will benefit me way beyond the classroom; I can't even begin to explain how thankful I am for you and all that you do, especially the bagels. Thank you to all of the teachers and all of the friends that have been a part of my last 18 years. You all have helped shape me into who I am today.

Alyssa Perko

I am extremely honored to be one of the top five graduates at Nute High School. Some accomplishments that I am proud of are my growth over the years and the work ethic I have created for myself. I pride myself in my ability to get my work done, and it's been what has kept me going over these past few years in school. I have always worked hard to get on honor roll each quarter, and I even received the Harvard Book Award my junior year. I am also very proud to have joined the National Honor Society in my junior year and completed all the requirements for being a member. In this day and age, with all the distractions of social media and peer pressures, I am extremely happy to have made it through my high school years, without succumbing to any of those social pressures.

I received a Presidential Merit Scholarship from New England College, where I will be attending in the fall. I look forward to continuing my educational and professional growth through college, and eventually into the working world. I would like to thank my parents for always being there for me and believing in my ability to succeed and their support and encouragement throughout these years. I am lucky to be best friends with two other top five graduates, Rebekka Bloser and Molly Welch. I would like to thank them for being amazing and supportive friends. I want to thank all the teachers at Nute for being extremely supportive and encouraging through high school.

Gavin Horton

I am proud to be able to say that I am in the top five in my graduating class. I have worked hard for this. After graduation, I will attend Ohio Technical College. I will graduate in August 2021 with an associate's degree in automotive collision repair and refinishing.

I would like to thank both of my parents for their continuous support for the past four years of high school. I would also like to thank all of my friends for being there to bounce ideas off of.

Rebekka Bloser

After growing up in Milton and attending Nute for all of my years in high school, I am proud to have had the opportunity to be a part of such a tight-knit community. I have had the opportunity to make close bonds and meet new people through organizations such as the National Honor Society, where I spent a lot of time doing community service with two of my best friends. After I graduate, I will be joining the Air National Guard, and then I will be attending the University of New Hampshire starting in the fall semester of 2021 with an undeclared major. I will most likely study art in some capacity.

I have been blessed to work alongside my grandmother who has taught me almost everything I know about art and has helped me grow an appreciation for it as I have improved my skills over the years. I have also been blessed to have a family who wants to see me succeed and who will keep pushing me to try my hardest. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for always having confidence in me to go above and beyond expectations. Thank you to my brother David for being right there with me in the worst of it all, and thank you Alyssa and Molly for making everyday fun and helping me see the brighter side of life. I sure will miss you guys.

Molly Welch

This year as a senior I'm proud to be able to say I've been a part of the National Honor Society since sophomore year, earned high honor roll all four quarters, and worked to create our high school yearbook. I had the opportunity to explore my interests by taking an honors veterinary science course at Dover High School, which allowed me to take care of animals and even watch a surgery. After graduation, I will be attending the University of New Hampshire and majoring in zoology, with an interest in the animal behavior program.

I would like to thank my parents for always pushing me to do my best throughout high school and telling me all my hard work would pay off in the future, which it has. I would also like to thank my two best friends, Alyssa and Rebekka, for always giving me friendly competition with tests and projects as well as making the past four years of high school the most fun and memorable. I don't know what I would've done without them, and we all made the top five!
