Newmarket woman arrested in Portsmouth bar stabbing

PORTSMOUTH - A Newmarket woman has been arrested in a stabbing at the Press Room bar in Portsmouth.
Jazmin Diaz Barrientos, 23, of Newmarket, turned herself in on an arrest warrant on Monday.
She is charged with four felonies in connection with the attack, including second degree assault, two counts of criminal threatening with a deadly weapon and reckless conduct; two misdemeanor counts of simple assault and one for disorderly conduct.
The incident unfolded soon after midnight on June 22 when Portsmouth police were called to The Press Room on Daniel Street for a report of a fight. Upon arrival they learned that one patron had assaulted another, and the victim was stabbed in the chest, according to a release.
The male who was stabbed has not been identified by police. He was treated and released from a Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
Barrientos was released on personal recognizance bail pending her arraignment at Portsmouth 10th Circuit District Court.
