New Hampshire DHHS: If you went to Sturgis get tested, quarantine immediately

CONCORD - New Hampshire DHHS officials put out a bulletin on Wednesday warning residents statewide about potential COVID-19 exposures related to the Sturgis, S.D., Motorcycle Rally held Aug. 7-16.

There have been more than 100 confirmed cases associated with the Sturgis event, including six New Hampshire residents.

DHHS recommends that all Granite State residents who traveled to Sturgis for the motorcycle rally get tested immediately.

"They should also quarantine and monitor for symptoms for 14 days upon their return to New Hampshire, even if they test negative," the bulletin states.

The Spouth Dakota Dept. of Health has issued public notifications regarding potential exposures at multiple locations in Sturgis from Aug. 11-17. Because there are multiple locations in Sturgis with potential community exposure and the number of confirmed cases associated with the event will continue to increase, anyone who attended the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally may have been exposed and potentially contracted COVID-19, according to DHHS.

Meanwhile, here in New Hampshire, DHHS officials announced eight new positive test results for COVID-19, including one under 18 amd mone from Strafford County.

No new hospitalized cases were identified leaving just eight currently being cared for in hospital settings.

DHHS also announced one additional death related to COVID-19, a woman from Hillsborough County 60 or older.
