Nashua woman pleads guilty to straw purchase of firearm used at crime scene

CONCORD - A Nashua woman pleaded guilty earlier this week to making a false statement to acquire a firearm for another person.

On Dec. 20, 2023, Tanya Hunter, 40, purchased the gun from a federally licensed firearms dealer in Hudson for a Massachusetts man. Hunter lied on the ATF form for the purchase when she said she was the actual buyer or transferee of the firearm.

The firearm was later recovered from a crime scene in Massachusetts.

The charges carry a possible sentence of up to 10 years imprisonment, up to three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.

Sentencing is set for May 11
