NASHUA - A Nashua pastor was arrested Tuesday at his church's parsonage for alleged possession of child sexual abuse images.
Stephen Bates, 46, the pastor of Bible Baptist Church, was taken into custody at the church parsonage at 62 Caldwell Road, where a search warrant turned up a large number of child sexual abuse images on two flash drives that Bates had in his possession, Nashua Police said in a statement.
Police said more charges could be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
The most serious charge thus far is a Class A felony punishable by up to 15 years in state prison.
Bates is being held on $3,000 bail pending an arraignment today in Hillsborough County Superior Court South.
