Nashua man drowns while fishing at Hudson pond

HUDSON - The New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol is investigating the Sunday death of an adult male at Beaver Brook in Hudson.

Police were dispatched to Beaver Brook around 9:25 a.m. for a report of a missing fisherman in the area of Sullivan Road in Hudson after it was reported that a person, who had been fishing from shore, had fallen into the water. Less than an hour later, the victim, later identified as John Coutu, 65, of Nashua, was located deceased.

The victim was not wearing a life jacket when he was found.

While investigators believe the death was not suspicious and was an accidental drowning, all aspects of the incident remain under investigation.
