BOW - A Connecticut motorcyclist who evaded police after they tried to execute a traffic stop for speeding was later taken into custody thanks to a New Hampshire State Police aircraft that monitored his movements till he parked it near trees in a Tilton supermarket parking lot.
The incident came as a New Hampshire State Police Special Enforcement Unit conducted a traffic enforcement initiative utilizing the State Police aircraft on Interstate 93 North in Bow.
During the effort police spotted a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Daniel David Palozie, 33, of Higganum, Conn.
When Troopers attempted to stop Palozie, who was clocked at 93 mph, he fled at a high rate of speed, driving in the breakdown of I-93.
A trooper in the State Police aircraft then monitored Palozie for several miles until he exited the interstate at Exit 20 and entered the parking lot of the Tilton Market Basket where he backed his motorcycle into a space near trees. The aircraft continued to observe Palozie until troopers from Troop D and Officers from the Tilton Police Department arrived on scene.
Troopers took Palozie into custody and charged with speeding, disobeying an officer, reckless driving and unregistered vehicle. A bail commissioner released Palozie on his own recognizance and he is due to appear in the 6th Circuit Court - District Division Concord next month.
